Confirmation: Pi Network Mainnet Protocol Has Officially Switched to v24

June 6, 2026 at 02:31 AM

OrbitWatch's Horizon API monitoring detected today:

The Mainnet protocol_version has officially switched to 24.

You can verify this directly on the Block Explorer: πŸ‘‰ blockexplorer.minepi.com

Timeline of This Upgrade

6/2 Node upgrade deadline
6/3 Testnet 2 switched to v24 (OrbitWatch monitoring)
6/5 Mainnet protocol officially switched to v24

Consistent with the pattern of V22 (3 days difference) and V23 (3 days difference), V24 also completed its Mainnet switch within a few days after the node deadline.

What Does V24 Represent?

V24 is positioned as an infrastructure enhancement, not a new user feature.

This version includes an optimized automatic migration system, improved restart capabilities, and a more stable node architecture, aiming to prepare the network for the upcoming V25 and V26.

For the average miner, V24 brings almost no directly noticeable changes. However, it is a crucial part of the entire upgrade sequence β€” without a stable V24, subsequent versions cannot proceed smoothly.

Next Up: V25 Node Deadline June 18

With V24 confirmed, attention now turns to V25.

Node operators need to complete their V25 node upgrade by June 18. With 12 days remaining, it's recommended to check for automatic upgrades two to three days before the deadline.

V25 is expected to bring further performance enhancements and network scalability, preparing for the final V26 upgrade.

OrbitWatch's Monitoring Continues

From V22 to V23 to V24, OrbitWatch has consistently confirmed and published updates immediately after each Mainnet switch.

Monitoring for V25 and V26 is also ongoing, with immediate updates upon switching.
