Overview
PiRC1(Pi Request for Comments #1)

Recent Document Changes
View on GitHub ↗c50d516Feb 20, 2026PiRC1 Documentation Refinement
This commit updates the primary documentation file for the PiRC1 protocol, improving its clarity and ensuring the information is current. While not changing the protocol's core functionality, this update makes it easier for developers and users to understand how to interact with and utilize PiRC1.
d1b6d80Feb 20, 2026Documentation File Renamed
This commit involves a simple administrative change to the PiRC1 repository, specifically updating the name of a file. It does not alter any of the rules, features, or technical details outlined within the PiRC1 protocol itself. Users will find the same information, but potentially under a different filename for better organization.
c8e6b4eFeb 20, 2026Initial Release of PiRC1 Token Launch Protocol Specification
This foundational commit introduces the complete PiRC1 protocol specification, which outlines how new ecosystem tokens will be created, launched, and distributed on the Pi Network. It establishes the core rules for projects to participate, ensuring a structured and fair system for token integration within the Pi ecosystem.
e16d96aFeb 20, 2026PiOS: Standardizing Open Source Development on Pi Network
The Pi Network is introducing a new standard called Pi Open Source (PiOS). This framework encourages and guides developers to build transparent, community-driven applications and tools using open-source principles within the Pi ecosystem.

Community Discussions
View on GitHub ↗Community Proposal: Weighted Liquidity & Rewards for Mined Pi in PiRC1/PiRC2
This comprehensive proposal introduces PiRC2, a super-economy framework designed to strengthen PiRC1 by mathematically protecting Mined Pi and ensuring all rewards originate from real-world usage fees. It proposes a Weighted Contribution Factor (WCF) to heavily prioritize Mined Pi over External/CEX Pi across all liquidity, staking, and reward mechanisms, guaranteeing value return to original Pioneers.
Community Request: Utility-Anchored Price Discovery for PiRC1
The community supports PiRC1 but proposes starting with utility-anchored price discovery instead of a free speculative market. This approach aims to prevent extreme initial volatility and panic selling, protecting Pioneers and ecosystem trust by ensuring value reflects actual utility demand rather than early speculation.
RWA Integration: Physical Asset Authentication Framework for Pi Commerce
The community proposes a conceptual framework to integrate Real-World Asset (RWA) authentication into the Pi ecosystem for high-value physical goods. This aims to combat counterfeits, build trust, and enable premium merchant participation by linking physical products to blockchain-based identity references via mechanisms like QR/NFC.
Pure Pi Staking & Pi-USD Utility Layer Model Proposal
This community proposal suggests a dual-layer economic model to address crypto volatility in daily transactions. It advocates for Pure Pi as a long-term reserve and staking asset, distinct from external markets, while introducing Pi-USD as the primary stable currency for everyday commerce within the ecosystem.
Proposed Hybrid Token Launch Model for PiRC Ecosystem
A community member proposes a hybrid token launch model for PiRC, allocating funds to liquidity (65%), developers (20% milestone-based), and an ecosystem reserve (15%). The proposal includes a dynamic reserve fund that gradually reduces and redistributes to liquidity and developers, alongside strict enforcement against malicious projects to ensure long-term stability and trust.
Pi Platform Integration for New PiRC1 Tokens & Utility
The community member is inquiring about how the "Tokens are usable immediately" principle will translate into Pi Platform functionality for community tokens. They propose that the Pi Platform should facilitate basic utility like receiving payments, detecting token amounts for governance, and associating Pi Apps with specific tokens to foster immediate use cases for new tokens.
Enhanced Ecosystem Candlestick Charts for Pi Network
A community member proposes a novel candlestick chart design for the Pi ecosystem that integrates multiple non-price indicators such as Daily Active Users, transactions, and new projects. The goal is to visualize overall ecosystem health, growth, and value, thereby moving beyond traditional price-only charts. This approach aims to provide greater transparency and reduce speculative behavior.
