Pi2Day 2026 Recap: Ecosystem Quest and New Utility Releases
Pi Network published the Pi2Day 2026 recap blog on August 5, summarizing participation results from the Ecosystem Quest (June 28 – July 13) and the three new features officially launched on Pi2Day.
Ecosystem Quest Participation
The Pi2Day 2026 Ecosystem Quest ran from June 28 to July 13, guiding Pioneers through activities to discover new apps, test ecosystem features, and understand how Pi's infrastructure supports utility creation across compute, AI, and identity. Over 2.56 million Pioneers started the Quest, and more than 1.78 million completed every step to claim this year's special-edition in-app badge.
The Quest included three steps:
- Exploring SoloHost Apps on Pi Desktop: Understanding how Node operators and Pi Desktop users can run and manage SoloHost applications, including local AI agents and other utilities
- Participating in Ecosystem Directory Staking: Engaging with the refreshed Ecosystem Interface and learning how to stake Pi to support apps and increase their visibility
- Discovering Vibe-Coded Apps: Exploring apps created with external AI tools and Pi App Studio, and sharing favorites in the Vibe Code channel on Fireside Forum
Three New Features Launched on Pi2Day
SoloHost
SoloHost is an open, permissionless framework on Pi Desktop where developers can build and list apps that help run local AI and, soon, distributed computing use cases. Through the SoloHost Early Beta that is gradually being released, users can discover and run these apps on their own computers, and engage with the corresponding app through mobile devices on Pi Browser. Community developers have already deployed 110 apps through SoloHost.
Pi Sign-in
Pi Sign-in enables Pioneers to use their Pi account to sign in to supported third-party websites and apps, which can benefit from Pi's network size and verified identity resource, outside the Pi Browser. This helps expand Pi's presence in the wider internet and third-party context.
PiVerify
PiVerify makes Pi's real-human verification capabilities available to third-party clients that need KYC and identity verification for their own users. This gives external platforms a means to mitigate fake or duplicate accounts and support compliance-related workflows. The client pays in Pi to use PiVerify services, which increases Pi utility.
